Before he started writing romance stories, James worked with the special need’s population for 10 Years. He devoted his life giving back to the population. From school's to agencies and everything in between James has worked almost every job within the community. After that, during the pandemic James decided to start writing to pass the time, but to come through on his promise he made years earlier. He devoted his life to giving back, now he devotes his life to telling his stories.

A remarkable love story that pulls on your heartstrings and leaves you inspired. A page turner that gives a first-hand look into the lives of a young couple madly in love and eager to start their lives together, only to have it all halted by a cancer diagnosis. With no clear road map on how to navigate their new normal, James and Anabel proceed into uncharted territory, hand-in-hand, with the love of their families and their faith in God to guide them.

    The Power of 10

1. I use to work with the special ed community.

I worked in the field for 10 years and devoted my time and efforts as a dedication to my sister who had disabilities herself. I wanted to give back and put a smile on everybody’s face who I encountered.

2. I enjoy lifting weights.

I use the gym as an outlet to better myself. Regardless of the goals I’ve had over the years, I always used the tools that I developed in the gym and used them in my everyday life

3. I enjoy listening to all types of music.

I can listen to a variety of different types of music no matter the genre. For example, Katy’s Perry Teenage Dream is one of my favorite albums of all time.

4. Childhood dream.

Throughout my childhood, I wanted to play in the NFL. It’s my favorite sport and was one of the few things I was good at. Unfortunately, with a 5’9 overweight frame, God must’ve had other plans for me because everybody around me continued to grow and I stay the same height.

5. My favorite sports teams.

My favorite sports teams are just about all the Los Angeles-based sports teams: Lakers, Rams, Dodgers, and Kings. I’m always up for a good sports discussion.

6. I still watch wrestling.

Embarrassing right? Wrong! I have no shame I still watch it and tune in everynight. I’ve been an avid fan since childhood and don’t plan to ever stop watching.

7. I watch Anime.

Another example is that I am a child in a Man’s body. I outgrew a lot of things throughout my childhood until now but watching Anime wasn’t one of them. My favorites include Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Attack on Titan.

8. I play video games

Last example of me proving I’m a Manchild. But I structure my daily life and at the very end before bed, I make sure to squeeze in some time with my Xbox and play online with my friends. I tend to stick to sports games but will play call of duty now and then. Hopefully, we run into each other online one day.

9. I love a great cheesy joke.

The cheesier the better for example I used this pick-up line on my Fiancee “ I know we’re not socks, but I think we make a great pair.” If that made you cringe reading that then it goes to show you the level of cheesy I am. By the way, try that out on a potential partner and please let me know how it goes because as of now I’m a whopping 1/1 with that pick-up line. I’m shooting 100%!

10. My biggest inspirations

I have three so I will list them out. Not in any particular order are Kobe Bryant, Nipsey Hussle, and Tupac Shakur. They all inspired me in different ways but to make it simple ill say one thing about each of them. Kobe’s work ethic is legendary and his go-getter mentality ( Mamba Mentality) drives me on the daily basis. Nipsey Hussle informed me a long time ago that “The Marathon Continues.” And those words stay with me whenever I hit a rough patch in life. Lastly, Tupac Shakur showed me that a person can wear many different hats in life. You can be seen in many different lights , so it showed me that you don’t have to stay in one lane you can explore so many lanes.
