Dr. Eurita Taylor is gifted to understand the unique struggles of single mothers. As a survivor of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, she penetrates their pain, frees them from binding insecurities, and directs them to His glory. Accountant by day and counselor by night, Dr. Eurita uses her personal experiences, professional skills, and Ph.D. in Christian counseling to empower women struggling with low self-esteem, homelessness, and financial stewardship.

What happens when children can’t trust the adults who are supposed to protect them?

With childhood innocence snatched from her, Dr. Eurita Taylor questioned God. For years, she ran from Him and into the arms of abuse, hunger, and depression. With her personal prodigal son experience, she released the hurt, betrayal, and abandonment to make her way back to the lover of her soul. His Strength in My Weakness chronicles her journey from wallowing in pity, doubt, and unbelief to reconnecting with Her Father. Showered with grace, mercy, and an abundance of love, she understood that the power to overcome was always in reach.

In this book, you will discover:

• Why God wants to turn your self-hatred into self-love

• Strategies to boost your confidence and faith

• How to shift your perspective to see failures as steps toward success

• Scriptures, prayers, and inspirations affirming that He is always with you

• Forgiveness as a tool to bless others and yourself

Praise for His Strength In My Weakness

“Dr. Taylor’s story told in her book, His Strength in My Weakness, is powerful, compelling, and at times, raw. She provides a roadmap which shows that no matter how difficult life can be, you can experience hope, breakthrough, and triumph with God.”

—Pastor Michael Kelly, Grace Fellowship Church Columbus, Ohio

“As I laid in the hospital bed and heard the doctor say, ‘You should have been dead,’ I thought about how reading His Strength in My Weakness comforted me. I am not a spiritual person and had limited understanding of the Bible references, but I read them over and over. Now I believe that He has a reason for keeping me alive.”

—Cheryl Kaiser, Manager at Speedway

  1. What is your current work in progress?

I am relaunching my first book with robust marketing strategies and preparing to restart my podcast. The sequel to His Strength in My Weakness is written and getting final touches done.

  1. What three things about you would surprise readers?

I am an extremely private person. Because I want readers to have transformative experiences reading my book, I am transparent about my life, but I had a hard time writing it. I published the book for the world to read, and tried my best not to tell anyone about it.

I watch hockey. A coworker introduced me to the sport and I love it.

I am from Antigua in the heart of the Caribbean and do not like the sun.

  1. Besides writing and reading, what are your hobbies?

I love music and could listen to it all the time. I also enjoy watching tennis on TV. Once the matches begin, I seldom change to another channel.

  1. What is your most difficult writing obstacle, and how do you overcome it?

The most difficult writing obstacle I experienced was listening to advice from others about what I should write. This influx of suggestions mostly came as I worked on my dissertation. To overcome the noise, I got into my quiet zone with my gospel music. When I got into my secret place, writing flowed.

5.     Where do you like to write?

I like to write in the office. During lunch and breaks, I put on my headphones, and write. Folks and distractions everywhere, yet the music creates an atmosphere that inspires me to write.

  1. Do you think sometimes we let our past get in the way of what God has planned for our futures?

At times, I knew God’s plan for me, but I was afraid to do it. My hurtful past involved many experiences that I wanted to keep hidden. For years, I let fear of others finding out about the sexual and physical abuse I endured get in the way of writing His Strength in My Weakness. Ashamed of the childhood mistreatment and my subsequent mistakes, I prolonged pursuing my Ph.D. I suffered because of my disobedience to God. I knew what He wanted, but I wanted to do things my way. He showed me how to use the experiences formed by the enemy to destroy me. Now I serve women to live a fulfilling life by trusting God.

  1. Do you think there’s a particular reason some people have one reaction versus the other when something bad happens in their life?

People react differently because of their mental, emotional, and spiritual maturity. Much like a breastfed newborn cannot chew and consume steak, an immature person cannot always withstand adversity. Not everyone can manage major setbacks without being overwhelmed, consumed, and defeated. A mature person acknowledges that God has embedded life lessons in every experience, good or bad.

  1. What’s on the horizon for you? What will you be writing next?

Publishing the sequel to His Strength in My Weakness. It continues where I started living for God and the difficulties I endured.

    The Power of 10

1. I use to work with the special ed community.

I worked in the field for 10 years and devoted my time and efforts as a dedication to my sister who had disabilities herself. I wanted to give back and put a smile on everybody’s face who I encountered.

2. I enjoy lifting weights.

I use the gym as an outlet to better myself. Regardless of the goals I’ve had over the years, I always used the tools that I developed in the gym and used them in my everyday life

3. I enjoy listening to all types of music.

I can listen to a variety of different types of music no matter the genre. For example, Katy’s Perry Teenage Dream is one of my favorite albums of all time.

4. Childhood dream.

Throughout my childhood, I wanted to play in the NFL. It’s my favorite sport and was one of the few things I was good at. Unfortunately, with a 5’9 overweight frame, God must’ve had other plans for me because everybody around me continued to grow and I stay the same height.

5. My favorite sports teams.

My favorite sports teams are just about all the Los Angeles-based sports teams: Lakers, Rams, Dodgers, and Kings. I’m always up for a good sports discussion.

6. I still watch wrestling.

Embarrassing right? Wrong! I have no shame I still watch it and tune in everynight. I’ve been an avid fan since childhood and don’t plan to ever stop watching.

7. I watch Anime.

Another example is that I am a child in a Man’s body. I outgrew a lot of things throughout my childhood until now but watching Anime wasn’t one of them. My favorites include Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Attack on Titan.

8. I play video games

Last example of me proving I’m a Manchild. But I structure my daily life and at the very end before bed, I make sure to squeeze in some time with my Xbox and play online with my friends. I tend to stick to sports games but will play call of duty now and then. Hopefully, we run into each other online one day.

9. I love a great cheesy joke.

The cheesier the better for example I used this pick-up line on my Fiancee “ I know we’re not socks, but I think we make a great pair.” If that made you cringe reading that then it goes to show you the level of cheesy I am. By the way, try that out on a potential partner and please let me know how it goes because as of now I’m a whopping 1/1 with that pick-up line. I’m shooting 100%!

10. My biggest inspirations

I have three so I will list them out. Not in any particular order are Kobe Bryant, Nipsey Hussle, and Tupac Shakur. They all inspired me in different ways but to make it simple ill say one thing about each of them. Kobe’s work ethic is legendary and his go-getter mentality ( Mamba Mentality) drives me on the daily basis. Nipsey Hussle informed me a long time ago that “The Marathon Continues.” And those words stay with me whenever I hit a rough patch in life. Lastly, Tupac Shakur showed me that a person can wear many different hats in life. You can be seen in many different lights , so it showed me that you don’t have to stay in one lane you can explore so many lanes.

#VIRTUALBOOKTOUR Hard Conversations by BJ Communicates #urbanfiction #newbookalert #newbookrelease #amazom #giftcard

Write Now Literary is pleased to be organizing a two-month book tour and $50 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway For Hard Conversations: Book 1: Breadcrumbs To The Past by BJ Communicates. The book tour will run Sept 6-October 29, 2021.

Genre: Urban Fiction

ISBN-978-1098380953

BJ Communicates, aka Dr. Brad Johnson, LSSBB, CSM, is a Kingdom writer, a communication practitioner, and an influential Bible teacher. Given the assignments of assisting urban believers in articulating their stories, finding resolution, and gaining the language of the Kingdom, BJ continually creates and releases inspirational media content that highlights their stories and experiences. “The Holy Spirit is constantly giving me things to write; sometimes it’s a book, sometimes it’s an article for a Christian publication, sometimes it’s something for my blog site or social media, and sometimes it’s a song for me or another recording artist, I’m just the pen in His hand,” says BJ. In addition to faith-based media creator, he is the owner of Communic8 Life Consulting, a communication consulting firm that specializes in assisting couples, families, and business teams in improving their interpersonal communication skills; and is the co-pastor of the urban cafe church Transformed City in Richmond, VA.

Sometimes it’s the conversations not had that do the most damage to the people in our lives. Hard Conversations is a collection of short stories detailing the lives of five urban people who are standing at the intersection of their past and their potential. Sensing that something is still off in the lives that they have built, each has to make the crucial decision whether to address their secrets long buried, or to continue living in the uncomfortable matrix they created. Only they can decide what their future will bring.

Our gifting often becomes our prison. I wrote this book to pull back the mask on our experience in the hopes that it compels us to confront our learned ability to white wash our pain with our talent and giftings. We are often taught that the greatest value that we bring to the world is solely present in what we do, what we earn, or how well we play. In reality our greatest value is in the stories that we can articulate to those we influence once we have reached the other side of trauma. Trauma that tried to silence our voice, trauma that caused a part of us to die in the fight, and trauma that threatened us to stay silent after our experience with it because we should just be grateful that we made it to the other side.
