1)         Q: Why do you write the kind of books you do?
A: My genre is financial literacy. Everything in my life is based on teaching                                     financial literacy whether it is a resource book, a novel or a workbook.

2)        Q: How has being published changed your life?

A: God gave me a calling to get my knowledge of financial literacy to my                                        community for those who have been left behind. I realized people actual                                              listen to my teachings. I figured if I was going to leave a legacy it would be                                     putting my knowledge in writing.

3)         Q: What are you reading right now?

A: I just finished a series of James Patterson novel’s. I am now reading and taking lessons from the “Master Class” of successful fiction writers in order to learn how to keep my readers engaged while learning at the same time.

4)        Q: What is your current work in progress?
A: I am in the final editing stages of a novel called “The IPO Conspiracy”. It is a                              book on an Initial Public Offering of a modeling agency. The company has a mole    inside that wants the founder of the company dead so they can reap the benefits of           $30 million in stock while using it as a front for a sex trafficking network.

5)         Q: How do you choose your settings for each book?
A: My settings evolve as research and I create the story.

6)        Q: If you could spend an evening with one person who is currently alive, who                                would it be and why?

A: My grandmother Emily Carroll Woods-Ford. She was the patriarch of my                                 fathers side of the  family who migrated from New Orleans, LA and brought two                                brothers and three of her sisters to California. By the time I was born in 1948 she                           was a successful entrepreneur owning a hotel, several houses in Oakland,                                      Berkeley, and Stockton. She was the spiritual leader of the Church of God and                                    Christ in Berkeley in from the 1940’s through the 1960’s. She was a community                                     and family leader. I would love to pick her brains on what drove her to her                                     successes.

 7)        Q: What are your hobbies, besides writing and reading?
A: I am a red wine maker with a green thumb (I grow flowers and vegetables) and            an active educator for the “Greater Sacramento Financial Literacy Group”.

8)         Q: My book is called “My 1st Investment Coloring Book”.

A: My 1st Investment Book is an alphabet book on the ABC’s of investments                                  where A stands for Asset, B stands for Bank, C stands for Cash, D stands for                                    Debt…It is designed to teach children investment nomenclature for pre-k through                                     nine year olds.

9)        Q: How do you choose between ideas youd like to write about?

A: Dreams: I dream in vivid colors of all sorts of fictional situations. I wake up                               around 2:30 a.m. every morning dreaming about life stories. I spend at least 30 minutes to one hour writing an outline about certain dreams.

10)       Q: What’s on the horizon for you?  What will you be writing next?

A: When I finish my current novel I will be writing fourteen short stories called                            “Stories from the Institute”.  These stories are based on name of my company, the                                 Institute for Investment Education (a fictional school). The stories will focus on  the Fundamentals of Money Management and how the use and misuse of money impacts the lives of the families who’s children attends the school.
